Halloweeeen

Saturday night we went to a super fun halloween party at Gretchen and Eric's. We were introduced to these things called 'walking tacos' which were frickin' amazing and perfect for a party (and i will be stealing this idea). Walking tacos are regular taco fixings shoved into a snack size bag of doritos. All you need is a fork! Genius! I should've taken a picture of this!

Anywho, we had a great time! We played some games and chatted and ate yummy food, plus my trick or treating through Gretchen's clothes, it couldn't have been better!

Take a look at the pics!

Hugh Hefner and his bunnies (and JFK in the background, typical?)

If Marilyn Monroe lived, you know she would've had his baby, right?

This would've won best costume if there were such a competition at the party!

The girls! :)

Weekend Happenings

Friday after work, Alex was attending a beer tasting at a friends in Manchester, so I headed up to my Grama's for a visit and then over to my parents for a visit. Quite an eventful Friday night!

Saturday morning we slept in as long as possible before Domino just wouldn't shut his meowing mouth up anymore. Alex went to work on the farm and I went to Kauffman's for apples and cider (and some other groceries) and then to JoAnn Fabric for some paint and some glue that would actually work. Later I completed one of the roman shades that you saw yesterday. Alex and I got subs (yum) for dinner and while he watched The Wire, I put together the mobile that you also saw from yesterday's post.

Sunday, Alex started early prepping his garlic cloves for planting. I cleaned the house, cut some apples (trick: after cutting, put the apples in some ginger ale to soak for a couple minutes, this helps to keep them from browning and it totally works!) and made sure all the craft stuff I had was ready for friends coming over. Courtney, Jen, Laurel and Jen came around 1pm and we ordered some yummy dominos and got down to business. We painted pumpkins (big and small) and created candles with leaves attached. It was super fun and we're planning to have 'club meetings' every month or so where we can get our craft on!

I stole these pictures from Jen! (thanks Jen!)

After everyone left and I cleaned some things up, I just relaxed on the couch for a while. I was pretty tired for some reason and there was nothing on TV. Alex came home from watching football at Dan's and while he watched The Wire some more, I took some pictures and wrote a couple blog posts and then headed to bed. I slept pretty terribly due to allergies and uncomfortabness (yep, i just made that word up). I was awake from 5:00am to 6:20 where I fell asleep for about 30 minutes before my alarm went off, lovely!

Thus starts another week, week 27 of pregnancy! Keep flying time, I do not mind one bit!

Happy Hour + Typical Saturday + Pumpkins

Friday, I left an hour early from work. Alex and I grabbed Jen and we headed to Bulls Head in Lititz for 'happy hour'. This is deceiving because they don't actually have any specials and we stayed way longer than an hour. Alex invited a bunch of people but I guess they had other friday plans so it was just us 3 for a while before we were joined by Scott and Michele and later we saw Bob and Karen. It was nice to see everyone and catch up a little bit, not to mention eat the best 'nachos' ever and split a bison burger with Alex. After Bulls Head we hung out at the McHenry's for a little bit before heading home.

Saturday, Alex went to work on the farm and I cleaned up around the house. When we got back we went to Bombergers and then Stauffers for groceries. Alex picked out some decorative pumpkins as well as some carving pumpkins for Sunday. Later in the day, I headed over to Courtney's for a little bit to hang out with her, Evander and Jen. Evander just gets cuter and cuter. I headed home for the special dinner we were planning to have, which turned out not as expected because the awesome salmon we purchased from Mr. Bill's had spoiled :(. So I whipped up some risotto and it turned everything around. After dinner, Dan and Steph came over so Dan could help Alex get the rototiller working. Steph and I chatted and watched the first 3/4ths of Bridesmaids.

Sunday, I got up nice and early to start the crock pot chicken chili and clean the house even more before our guests came over. I really don't enjoy cleaning that frequently but it had to be done. My sister, Jess came down because she needed to hit up the Apple Store, so I went with her and ended up getting two really awesome nail polish colors at Sephora. One sparkly gold and one sparkly red. I'm currently wearing the gold and i'm in love, I stare at my nails constantly. They couldn't fix her phone without an appointment so she headed home. The Hix's and Herr's arrived and we did the following: Girls- eating, chatting, pumpkin carving (i should've taken pictures, darnit!), watching the last 1/4th of bridesmaids, reigning in the men. Boys- eating, football watching, taking shots of jameson, engaging in some target shooting, being reigned in by their women. We had a great time! After they left, Alex and I got subs from Caruso's and relaxed for a while before saying goodnight to the weekend.

I regrettably did not get any nursery projects accomplished as I planned to. I am going to do the Roman Shades tonight though for sure and if that goes as fast as I think it will, I'm going to finish putting the mobile together. Because this weekend I need to get reacquainted with the sewing machine so I can start some other projects. Oh crazy baby nursery stuff!

Enjoy the week!

The Crib + Baby Registry+ Evander + Football

If i had to sum up the weekend in one word, I would say, productive.

Finally, the meyer lemon tree has lemons!

Friday night, my parents came over with Makayla for dinner and to help set up the baby crib. Alex made a flank steak which was delicious and we introduced my parents and Makayla to quinoa which I think they all liked. After everything was done, I was too tired to do anything else so we just hung out a little before going to bed.

Saturday morning we didn't sleep in too much, Alex went to work on the farm and I watched Grey's Anatomy, followed by a trip to JoAnn Fabric for some supplies. I started on two projects and watched Private Practice. It's best to watch those shows on Saturday when Alex isn't home. He doesn't love them. Later when Alex got home we went to Hoss's for dinner (yum) and then watched Bridesmaids while I created our baby registry. Those things are not easy folks. Hopefully I did it right and didn't miss anything, though Courtney was giving me tons of good advice yesterday about registries so I'm sure i'll be updating it over the next couple months.

Sunday, Alex headed over to Dan's to help with an electrical project and I slept in.. a lot. I worked some more on my nursery projects. Alex came home for a little bit before heading back to Dan's to watch football. I'm pretty thankful for this because I don't generally enjoy watching football and usually when I do so I end up sleeping which is not my idea of a good Sunday, but the fact that Alex has been heading to Dan's to watch football gives me lots of time to do solo things. I went to visit the Nowak family for a couple hours and baby Evander is so freaking cute. Babies are so tiny.. it's unbelievable to me even though i've seen it with my own eyes. I also cannot believe that i'm growing one (sorry if I sound like a broken record).

Anyway, it was nice to catch up with them and get some new parenting insight. I really needed to go to JoAnn fabric again on my way home but decided I would just go later since it's really only 5 minutes down the road. I had some lunch and relaxed a little more when I got home, followed by working more on the projects. Around 6 I decided I should hit up JoAnns before they close since it's Sunday. Little did I know they close at 6. After arriving at 6:15 to a locked door, I went to the grocery store instead. I really miss having our garage door working.. it's kind of a chore having to carry 3 or more loads of groceries in through the front door instead of just in from the garage to the kitchen. Especially since I can't really carry heavy groceries for far distances. Luckily this time, Alex came home in time to help with the last trip inside. After unpacking all of that, I took some pictures of the things I was working on and wrote a couple of blog posts. I made us some dinner and messed around on my ipad while Alex watched more football or something.. soon after we called it a night. The end.

Fabric Shopping + Victory Brewing + Brunch + Birthday Celebration

Very busy weekend. Definitely the kind I like except for the fact that the time flies by wayy too fast. (Sorry, no pictures!)

Friday night, Alex and I went to SKH to look for a birthday gift for Nick. We weren't successful but did get some grocery shopping in. We made a delicious mushroom risotto for dinner and spent the evening watching TV from the week. Mostly the new pilots as well as the new NCIS. Very relaxing evening.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early. We went to JoAnn Fabric with Alex's mom, Charmayne for quilt fabric. Alex did such an awesome job picking. I was still being indecisive and he put together some really nice ones that I really like. After JoAnn we headed to Intercourse to have lunch and hit up another fabric store. We found the last two pieces that we needed and choose a back color. I think it's going to turn out ah-mazing. I saw some other fabric there that I might have to go back and get to make crib sheets and to sew over the bumper that I bought for $8 at the consignment sale. After shopping we headed down to Downingtown to meet up with Alex's Aunt and Uncle (Debbie and Lynn). We had such a great time (as we always do) catching up with them and listening to their stories. Lynn shot a hippo! I mean, can any other story really top that? Who can say they've shot a hippo?! No one else I know. After spending a good deal of time at Victory Brewing Co, we headed over to a place nearby called McKenzies. They had a great beer selection as well, though obviously I didn't partake in more than a tiny sip or two. Such a great evening!

Sunday morning we met up with the Herr's at the Eden to have the best brunch available in Lancaster County. I won't even go into detail about the amount of food I consumed but I will say, it was delicious and filled me for basically the rest of the day (well, until dinner). After brunch, we headed to see Courtney and Derek and baby boy, Evander. Courtney is so amazing and she was just glowing when she talked about her baby and her experience. We are so happy for them and they're already proving that they're amazing parents to that lucky little boy. Evander is such a sweetie, he was sleeping when we were there but he looked so peaceful! That little one could be our baby girl's future boyfriend, we're prepping them early ;). After visiting, I took Alex to the farm so he could watch the Eagles game with his family. I had some errands to run and ended up stopping at the Jcrew outlet (score!) which I should really try to go to more often. They didn't have anything cute for kids but I did get a couple things for myself that will last through this maternity period. I went home to shower and then met back up at the farm so we could head to dinner for Nick's birthday. He decided on Saigon, which is a vietnamese restaurant that has the best pho in Lancaster (trust). It was delicious and light (after that monster brunch). After dinner, Alex's parents came back to our house to check out our garage door issue and to help take a dresser up to the nursery. I really need to get some baby hangers to start hanging some of the clothes that my sister gave me.

We spent the rest of the evening relaxing, which is always how we like to end a Sunday. A little bit of time to mentally prepare for another work week!

Lobster, A Wedding & Baby Clothes

I lied in my other post that we were having Lobster on Thursday. We actually had it on Friday night. Alex went to Mr. Bill's Seafood market and bought two 2lb live lobsters and brought them home. We steamed them in the dutch oven, which was kind of sad, but surprisingly easy. They were accompanied by mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. They were very yummy to eat! We spent the rest of the evening watching The Wire.

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early to attend breakfast at our neighbors before the East Petersburg parade (which starts on our street). After we ate, we watched the parade (it seemed shorter this year) and then went inside. I decided to go to the mall for a dress for the wedding we were going to attend later on and I didn't have anything to wear. First I went to the BonTon because they were offering coupons for donations. Their maternity section is tinier then tiny. After I tried on a regular dress, and found Alex's name tag from the morning stuck to my bum (thanks babe), I gave up on the BonTon. I walked a little ways up into the mall to the Limited and tried on a couple of the dresses that were on sale. I ended up getting one for $10 and a flowy top for $12, score! And some earrings for $10! I was so happy with the deals and that they were normal clothes that will allow for stretching!

When I got home, we got ready for the wedding and headed into Lititz for the ceremony. It was beautiful! I love weddings! Gretchen looked like wedding barbie. Her dress was amazing! We had a great time at the cocktail hour and then the reception. We sat with Derek and Courtney, so of course I was quizzing Court with tons of pregnancy questions since she's going to have her baby boy on Friday!! Woo!! Our drink of choice was Shirley Temples (yum)! We ate dinner, we danced to the music and had a great time! The DJs were great, which was to be expected since Eric is a DJ himself. The speeches by Jen and Mike were awesome! They did such a great job. Probably two of the best speeches i've ever heard! We had a really great time catching up with everyone. When we got home we hung out on the couch for like 15 minutes so Alex could have a snack and then we went to bed. It was a long day!

Sunday morning, I slept in until about 9:30am. It was lovely. The temp has been perfect for sleeping lately, even though we've had crickets in our basement that have been chirping nonstop and I knocked our fan a couple nights ago so it also clicks (i'm going to have to look at it today bc I can't stand another night with the clicking, also, Alex slayed the crickets this morning for me, what a gentleman, so no more chirping!) Anyway, I slept in. When I got up, I cleaned up the kitchen and headed to Home Depot to get Alex more spray paint for the crib. I got the wrong kind, turned around and got the wrong kind again! Ugh! So he is going today to get the right kind (hopefully) so we can get this part finished and put together in the room. This coming Saturday we're going to look at fabric with Charmayne and hopefully will be successful. We discussed again just going with one color instead of multi-color so I'm going to create some inspiration boards and such at lunch to work further on that theme so we can at least know something that we want by Saturday. I spent the whole day up at my parents house, going through Mak's baby clothes. I got two bins full. One full bin of just 0-3 and then another bin filled with half 3-6 and 6-9 and a little bit of 9-12. She thinks there's another bin, which there probably is, filled with 9-12 and beyond. That was a treat. Then I chatted with my parents for a couple of hours, which was really nice and we ended up going to dinner all together before I headed home.

It was a nice busy weekend. I love those kind!

Delaware +. Ikea + Bachlorette + Baby Shower = Busy

Busy weekend!

Friday after work, we headed down to DE to spend time with Nick and Laurel. They made a delicious dinner, we at Gelato on Main Street and played Mad Gab, which was hilarious to say the least. I almost touched their cat Dilla, which is pretty much a success because he's the shyest kitty on the planet (but also possibly the cutest).

Saturday morning, after breakfast we headed to Ikea in Baltimore. It was awesome. I hadn't been to Ikea in about 6 years so it was nice to go back and see the whole showroom setup. We ended up getting a bunch of stuff for the nursery. We got a 4 cube shelf, some picture frames, some little globe-y lamp things that I want to use as 'night lights' as well as the image to the right.. I pinned it a while back but didn't actually look to see where it was from. Pleasant surprise to find it at Ikea, at obviously an awesome price. Now i don't have to try to recreate it myself! We also got some new bathmats for the bathroom up there as well as a new shower curtain. I'm going to try to add pops of color in there as well. Why not! The last thing we got was a shelf for the dining room to go over the kegerator to hold beer glasses. Alex put it together and we put it up yesterday, so i'll snap a picture of it and include it in the post about our new mailbox that Alex also installed. He's so handy! Anyway, back to Saturday. After Ikea, we hit up PF Changs (and weren't overly impressed due to the amount of hype we heard prior) but it was still good. I love fried green beans and they give a huge plate as an appetizer.

After this late lunch we parted ways. I had a bachelorette party to go to in the evening which started at Jen's house with silly cookies and sangria that looked amazing (but I couldn't drink, obviously). We headed to dinner at Cultura's and it turned out I had an awesome coupon for 50% off food. Cultura's is a tapas restaurant so we probably ordered 30 plates of food to share between 10 people. It was delicious as always. I thoroughly enjoyed my two raspberry (virgin) margaritas as well as some red raspberry ice cream from the Strasburg Creamery. After dinner we headed to the bride's sisters home to hang out, play games and watch a movie. We played Mad Gab, which was hilarious again and then watched Bridesmaids which I was so excited to see. The movie was funny but had some slow parts. That whole night, I probably did more laughing then I have in a long time. That group of girls are hilarious! I ended up getting home around 3am. Crazy! Time had just flown by and I didn't realize it. I knew I would have to do some hardcore sleeping in the next morning.

And that's exactly what I did. I finally got up around 10:30am. I putz-ed around and then vacuumed the house. We put the shelf up above the kegerator like I mentioned above. Then we headed to our friends Courtney & Derek's couples baby shower. We'd never been to a couples shower before but it was so fun. They had some cute games like guess the baby food flavor (which baby food is pretty gross, even more reason why i'm probably going to make my own food, although the fruit was much better then the meals) and bobbing for nipples, which Nick won! We got to meet Dedra and Justin's brand new baby boy, Jack, who was super cute wrapped up in Dedra's (what i'm assuming is a) Moby Wrap. He was so tiny at 2 weeks old, which is completely normal obviously, and when Alex was holding him he looked like a complete natural. Cue the awes. After the shower, Nick and Alex watched the Eagles game we recorded and Laurel and I watched Bridesmaids.. long movie, the funny kind of dies off in the end and is brought back with the Wilson Phillips. There was a small break at half time for them to move furniture though which was a huge help. I'm so glad that's completed and now I can actually take picture of the nursery and get moving on all my other things related to it. After Nick and Laurel headed back to DE, Alex went over to the Herr's to watch the night game and I really needed to go to the grocery store, so I did that, plus I hadn't eaten anything since lunch so I made some spaghetti/meatballs and spent the rest of the evening facetiming with Julia and then my parents. Gosh facetime is amazing.. it's going to come in SO handy when we have this little bundle.

That sums up our super busy weekend. I can't believe it's already the 2nd week of September. This month is flying by already! Tomorrow I will take a picture of my 21 week bump to share with you! It's definitely getting bigger!

Gender Reveal. Birthdays. Shuffleboard. Housework.

Labor day weekend was great!

Friday night we had the gender reveal with our families. My mom bought Alex and I these cute booties (2 pairs) to hang from our car rearview mirrors. Mine are already in my car but here are Alex's. How cute are they!! They were actually supposed to be booties but my mom turned them into the car accessory, how creative! I can't believe babies tootsies are that tiny! The reveal went well, it was nice to hang out with both families at once, although it's quite hard to socialize with everyone at a restaurant. Everyone is excited for a baby girl!

Saturday we had to wake up early to head to York to sign a couple of papers that were missed when we bought our car. First we stopped at the Herr house to pickup a rototiller. Then we had to take it home before heading to York but got to experience the convenient cargo space of the Pilot. Speaking of.. here's finally a picture of it! After the signing which took about 5 minutes, we got our car washed in the rain (bc it's free for 30 days and only in York). We then headed home to pack and get ready to head to Nicholson for Glen's birthday party. First we lunched at Isaac's and took advantage of a coupon and then got on our way. 3 hours later, we arrived! lol. This was a surprise party for Glen so I think (hope) he was surprised. I totally underestimated the weather.. it was super humid out and I was wearing skinny jeans that stuck to me like glue. It was nice chatting and playing shoes and washers with the Hettel's and catching up with Glen and Jeanette. We ended the night around the fire and with some Ghost Adventures on tv.

The next morning, Mrs. Mackey made delicious potatoes and sausage. Mmm! We headed out around 10am and got home around 12:30ish. We ate some lunch and then headed to Home Depot to get a couple things. I thought about taking a nap and about starting some projects but settled with playing on the iPad and watching Titanic on tv. Later in the evening, we met up with Phil, Ashley, Anne, Jess, Lauren, Andy and one of Phil's coworkers at the Taproom in the city to celebrate Phil's birthday. We spent most of the time chatting and playing shuffleboard. It was awesome! Later we stopped by the Rendezvous Lounge at the Marriott where the following pictures were taken:

Today, we got to sleep in, which was fabulous. Followed by some rearranging of the upstairs furniture and then spray-painting the changing table while Alex brewed a beer. Now i'm writing blog posts for the week and hopefully having an early dinner followed by some straight up relaxation! I love busy weekends and especially weekends that I actually take a couple pictures! Enjoy the rest of the week!

New Car, Barnstormers, Friends, and Hurricane Irene

After what was the longest and most tiring work week of the entire year thus far the weekend was finally here. I (luckily) got off work a little after 2pm which was a relief. I was super tired and all the manual labor from the past couple days was taking a toll. I got to relax a little bit before we headed to York to close on the car.

The only picture I took all weekend.
We bought a Honda Pilot. I will post a picture soon. So far, we love it. We don't anticipate that changing anytime soon. It's basically perfect for what we needed (and wanted). Plus, Alex did a killer negotiating job and we got a great deal. (Thanks Apple Honda) Closing on said car took 2 hours. When we got back home, we immediately headed to the Barnstormers game with Matt because I had won tickets the week before. Unfortunately Britt was working and couldn't join us. We left during the 7th inning or so due to sheer boredom and headed to the Cat's Meow where she worked though to visit. Had a good time overall. Ate some yummy soft serve at the baseball game.. mmm.

Saturday, Alex went to work at the farm and I headed up to my parents house to show them the car and hang out for a little while. (I should've been sanding the crib) And when I got home, I took Alex over to the Nowaks for a Fantasy draft, where I returned later that evening to hang out/help Court put away the cutest nursery stuff! What a learning experience. Babies get a lot of clothes at showers, (duh) but really.. a lot of clothes! After all that, we got to check out Laurel's Bachelorette photo shoot images which turned out really great. I'll be sure to post a couple of my favorite on here once I get them from her!

Sunday we slept in nice and long.. Hurricane Irene had given us a slight pounding from 3pm on Saturday and was basically over when we awoke. The hardest rain/wind I thought was from about 11pm to 6am. I think Alex read his parents rain gauge at 4 inches. Anyway, back to Sunday. We had to get ready to head over to the farm for lunch, so we got moving. We got to check out a lot of Nick and Laurel's honeymoon pictures from Hawaii which were beautiful. It looked like they had a great time. I was jealous and wanted to be back there again (perhaps with the body I had in 2009).

We left around 3:30 to get ready to head to Hershey to meet up with Erin and David for dinner. We ate at Houlihan's. It was yummy. Unfortunately, Nicole and Jimmy couldn't make it but hopefully we'll see them soon. It was nice to chat with Erin and David about the upcoming babies (for both of us) and get some perspective on daycare stuff. Erin has a wealth of knowledge since she works at a pre-school. We had a great time, I love the laid back feel of hanging out with them.

When we returned home, we just relaxed before another work week starts. Today we find out the gender of the baby!!!!! We've been waiting 19 weeks for this!

Test Driving, Relaxation, The Wire and a Birthday (or 3)

Friday after work it started raining. Of course. And who test drives in the rain? Anyone?? We decided to wait until it was over, since it wasn't supposed to last very long. Around 6pm we headed to the Honda dealership to check out the CR-V. We kind of scratched the sedans off of our list as being too small so we narrowed the list to two crossovers. The CR-V was great. It rode like a car (just the way we wanted) and the cargo area was quite large. We had lots of room when we sat in the backseat and it was overall pretty impressive. Just as we imagined it.

Next we headed to the Ford dealership to test drive an Edge. Of course, we loved it. After some thinking, we liked it more than the CR-V. So we started running numbers. Obviously the Edge is more expensive than the CR-V and due to the fact that we're having a baby.. we want to keep the payment as low as possible. So we're probably going with the CR-V. We're about 99% sure at this point. Update: We're not sure about anything now! We went to Isaac's for dinner with a coupon I had and then came home and watched... something. I can't remember.

Saturday morning we were up early for some reason. Boo! To be honest I was pretty lazy all day. I painted my fingernails twice (the first time was a french manicure fail) and I hit the grocery store so I could make 5 layer taco dip (it's probably supposed to be 7 layers but I couldn't think of the other layers, and I liked the 5 I had). I watched lots of TV and also a movie.. which I can't think of the name right now. Wow i'm awesome at forgetting things! I should've been cleaning but the cats were being sleepy and cuddly with each other on the couch, I couldn't bare to scare the be-jesus out of them with the vacuum cleaner. Alex got home and he made Leek/Potato soup for dinner. We probably watched an episode of The Wire, which he's currently into, and I don't usually pay much attention to and we watched probably another movie. I'm terrible at this!!

Sunday, again we were up much to early. I did take the opportunity to vacuum and Alex cleaned the kitchen. Then he watched more of The Wire before we headed to my 2nd cousins birthday party. They do a joint party for the 3 girls and it's super cute! It was too bad that it rained because they have a pool (so lucky) but we still had a great time! I love those birthday parties and hope that they go on for a number of years. The kids are so adorable and say the funniest things. Plus it was nice to be around people since we didn't see too many other people this weekend. And now I want a swimming pool. Gahh!

Thanks for reading about my super awesome weekend. I'll try to amp it up with pictures next weekend, which is sure to be just as boring fun!

Monday, August 15, 2011

This weekend we..

didn't really do all that much.

Friday after work, I thought about going to the mall but didn't do it. Instead i moved furniture around upstairs. Then we proceeded to snack our way through dinnertime and we watched a couple episodes of The Wire. Alex really likes it, I don't love it but don't hate it. I usually just sit there with the ipad and half pay attention.

Saturday morning we thought about going to test drive some cars, but decided we didn't have enough time. So we went to the grocery store and s clyde weavers, came home and had hash browns for breakfast and later on BLTs for lunch. Then I headed to a bridal shower for a friend (Gretchen). She was super surprised. I love watching others be surprised. After the shower (in which it rained the whole time, a real life shower, lol) Alex and I were supposed to head to some other friends going away party, which we found out ended earlier then expected. We were pretty bummed but luckily we'll see them tonight for dinner. So we decided to go to the Red Box and we watched The Lincoln Lawyer and Hall Pass. TLL was good, HP was a silly waste of time.

Sunday we had plans to go tubing with friends on the Pequea, but the rain cancelled them. So I went up to my parents to hang out for the day and Alex stayed home to do chores around the house, etc. I later went to my cousin' Stephanie's fiance Brandon's (follow that?) welcome home party. He's officially out of the service. We're very happy for him. I came home afterward and we watched Alice in Wonderland (the newer one) to end the weekend.

Relaxing (sometimes boring) but good nonetheless. Next weekend brings car test driving and a birthday party as well as being one week closer to seeing our growing baby bru on the big screen (i'm not actually sure how big the screen is).

What we did this weekend

Friday night we went to dinner with Alex's parents at Iron Hill. After we got home and settled we watched the 4th Harry Potter. Those movies are loong but it never seems like you've just spent over 2 hours on the couch.

Saturday morning we headed down to DE, Alex headed off to Nick's bachelor party with Matt and Marci and I stayed with Laurel. We went shoe shopping, we lunched, we went to the pool, we worked on wedding stuff (so glad we could help!), we watched SALT and we went to bed. Salt was good, a lot different then I expected but good. The pool was also amazing. Makes me wish I had a pool or at least had one within walking distance!

Sunday we awoke and hung out until the guys got back. Laurel made lunch and then we headed home. Alex and I watched another Harry Potter, had tacos for dinner and just relaxed. It was a nice way to end the weekend.

That was a pretty short explanation but i'm cool with it. I feel pretty tired at the moment. The next couple weeks are going to be pretty busy which is good because then we won't think about how much longer it will be until we find out the sex of the baby. We decided we're not going to go early, we'll just wait until 20 weeks. We have plenty going on between now and then, like a wedding, buying a new car, saying goodbye to two friends, and river tubing. That should keep us busy, hopefully I can document all of those things with pictures, unlike this past weekend!

Hope this week isn't as hot as last!
